Jeremy Clarkson sticks with Top Gear

"There has been a lot of stuff in the newspapers recently about the future of Top Gear," says Jeremy Clarkson.

2013-06-14_0147He’s been the subject of recent controversies, but Jeremy Clarkson isn’t about to move on from the show that has amassed him a fortune.

Writing in Top Gear magazine, he acknowledged, “There has been a lot of stuff in the newspapers recently about the future of Top Gear.

“Some seem to think there isn’t one. But I can assure you, there is. There are also those who think I won’t be part of it.

“Well, sorry, but I am. Unless I am eaten by a pack of wild dogs before the next series starts early next year.”

In May he said, “I’ve been told by the BBC that if I make one more offensive remark, anywhere, at any time, I will be sacked. And even the angel Gabriel would struggle to survive with that hanging over his head.

“It’s inevitable that one day, someone, somewhere will say that I’ve offended them, and that will be that.”

Clarkson is thought to have earned $AU25million for his work on Top Gear last year, including his salary and payments related to the show’s global success.

  1. Who here really thinks the BBC would sack Clarkson? Without him the show would fold and its just to important to the BBC, they can’t afford to loose it.

Nice to have confirmation on the next series, just a shame it’s not until early 2015.
