New US series Jane the Virgin will air on FOX8 in December.
Loosely based on Venezuelan telenovela Juana la Virgen, it stars newcomer Gina Rodriguez as a conscientious, ambitious twenty-something virgin whose meticulous life plans are turned upside down when she is accidentally artificially inseminated during a routine check-up at the doctors.
The series premiered last week for The CW at 1.63 million viewers, its best timeslot audience since February 2012.
It will premiere in Australia Monday December 1st at 7:30pm on FOX8 with Foxtel indicating it will be fast-tracked over summer.

How is that fast tracked when they are waiting until Dec to air it on Foxtel?
2 months is no better that what FTA used to do with most US shows.
I think they mean it will be caught up, as in the US they usually have a few weeks off in the christmas/new year period.
Remain on over summer would be more accurate.
But Foxtel never takes shows off for non-ratings season once they start, because that doesn’t matter to them.
If they use the term “fast-tracked” to mean screening one episode a week, I think that’s an abuse of the term. In my mind, being over a month and a half behind the US doesn’t constitute something being “fast-tracked”.
