Actress Kym Valentine is heading back to Ramsay Street.
Valentine, who played Libby Kennedy left Neighbours in 2004 to appear in the stage musical of “Dirty Dancing.”
Valentine had hoped to appear in the UK stage version of the production but it did not eventuate.
She is heading back to the show as part of an on-going revamp of the soap which will see changes on-screen from late July.

I raised the WASP criticisms of the show which are long-standing and we discussed the various ethnicities the show has had, including the diversity with G&L representation (more L than G). I think the show’s European characters are likely overlooked, with black and Asian less represented. despite the fact they have been included. Clearly the show’s agenda isn’t the same as Kick, and it’s delivery for the UK market follows a preferred line. On any programme such decisions about the show’s character mix will lay further up the food chain than the casting department.
Did Jan menion why, in a city as multicultural as Melbourne, she hardly ever casts non-white people?
Thanks Andrew!
Will have to try and see about a podcast.
