ABC comedy The Librarians has been nominated in the sitcom category of the prestigious Rose d’Or Awards today in Switzerland.

It follows a nomination for The Chaser’s War on Everything in the comedy category.

They are the only two Australian nominees in the respected television festival for 2008.

Librarians will compete head to head with eight other sitcoms, including The IT Crowd, The Mighty Boosh and My Family, all from the UK.

The comedy was created by its star Robyn Butler who wrote and produced with its director, her partner Wayne Hope (Stupid, Stupid Man). They are both developing another comedy for the ABC, Very Small Business.

I hope they win! The Librarians is a pretty funny show. I’m hoping for a second series.
