Tina wows the Grammys

By David Knox on February 11, 2008 / Filed Under News 3

‘Retiree’ Tina Turner rarely performs in public anymore. Her appearance for a children’s charity in May last year was her first full concert in seven years. But today she took to the stage at the 50th Grammy Awards and still managed to light up the screen.

The segment, introduced by Cher, begins with Beyonce. Turner then appears with a short medley of “What’s Love Got To Do With It / Better Be Good” and was joined on stage by Beyonce for a stomping version of “Proud Mary.”

This was Turner’s first real public appearance since her record-breaking Millennium Tour “Twenty Four Seven.” Meanwhile former hubby Ike was part of an ‘In Memoriam’ montage. Tina lives on in fine form at 68 years of age!

The Grammys were screened live on FOX8.

For the rugby league fans who fondly remember the days of NSWRL in the late 80′s and early 90′s, check out these promos featuring the one and only Tina.

What on earth has she done to her face … it looked tragic!

Being a HUGE Ike and Tina fan, I personally thought this performance was a little awkward and stilted.
