Gilchrist signs with Nine

Cricketer Adam Gilchrist has signed with Channel Nine for a co-hosting role on Wide World of Sports.

The Nine Network today announced the signing of Australian cricket legend Adam Gilchrist to an exclusive television deal.

He will debut on Sunday March 30 at 9:30am.

“Adam is one of the most respected sportsmen in Australian history. Having him join Channel Nine is an honour, and we look forward to him starting on air this month,” Mr David Gyngell, Nine Network CEO, said.

Gilchrist said: “I am thrilled to be joining Nine’s Wide World Of Sports – I’m looking forward to the next stage of my life after cricket.”

Gilchrist’s new role will include co-hosting the return of Channel Nine’s famous Wide World Of Sports program, on-air involvement in the network’s cricket coverage, and various other television opportunities.

Viewers will get their first glimpse of Gilchrist in his new role when he co-hosts one of the early editions of Wide World Of Sports with Ken Sutcliffe on Sunday, March 30 at 9.30am.
