Doctors on call in big House

New episodes of House return in the US later this month, and are to be fasttracked by TEN, but the news isn’t all good.

Creator David Shore has said there are no immediate plans for either Cameron (Jennifer Morrison) and Robert Chase (Jesse Spencer) to rejoin House’s team.

Whilst they aren’t being cut from the cast, they are set to remain in the background while House’s newest recruits shine. Shore added that putting Cameron and Chase back in the forefront is not necessarily “what the show needs.”

Though they may get a little more attention in the next round of episodes the FOX drama will have a large cast of characters to deal with.

“Cameron and Chase are certainly not on screen as much as they used to be, but the stuff they’re doing, I think, takes on a different weight and a greater weight,” Shore said.

“As someone running a television show, you have to be very careful – people think they want something and they do want something, but it’s not what they need, shall we say, and it’s not what the show needs,” Shore said.“It’s great that they like those characters. … You want people to want more of things. You have to be careful on what you deliver.”

Shore also indicated something “pretty significant” happens in the two-parter that closes out the season.

  1. As with all new series from the Fall season the writers strike interrupted the flow. TEN will match what the US has currently aired.

A handful of new eps for many shows do return in April in the US. WMC will have 3 beginning Apr 29. It’s not much of a springboard to work with, so the only option would have been filling with repeats until then as they are doing with House.

  2. Hey David
Do you know why Channel 10 are calling Womens Murder Club the “Season Finale” this week?

Apparently from what i have read on US websites they are returning for a few episodes at the end of April.

Does that mean 10 wont be showing them?

  3. Now see my only problem with that interview is that these guys create/write/produce etc a tv series. They have a fantastic ensemble of actors, characters etc so surely they are creative enough to be able to make a storyline for the characters? To me that’s just lazy and almost patronising to the audience “What they need?”. Its one thing to add new characters and focus on them which I understood, but in an earlier interview it was either David or Katie Jacobs who stated that everyone would return to the forefront. I’m still going to watch the show, but David Shore’s disappointed me I guess.
