Sneak Peek: Enough Rope: Gordon Ramsay

And here is your first look at the season premiere of Enough Rope for 2008 in which a softly spoken Gordon Ramsay gets a gentle grilling from Andrew Denton. In fact so cheeky were some of our Andrew’s questions that three times the chef called him “a little f****r.”

Ramsay, who had almost lost his voice, spoke about his early career, including when as an 18yo he had sex with the 30yo wife of his boss. Denton also gives Ramsay three oddly collected food groups to see what dish he would create: bacon, polenta and choko. “It’s known as dunny fruit because it often grows on vines on outside toilets in Australia,” said Denton.

Unimpressed, Gordon said, “It looks like, sort of, Shrek’s shit.”

As well as talking about his upbringing, there were several inimitable Ramsay gags, including one about an early French girlfriend.

“It was like going to bed with a Rotweiller strapped to your chest.”

Even denied the full force of his vocal cords, Ramsay was still charismatic and never short of a comment.
