Sun sets on gossip gig

Daily Telegraph columnist Sarah Grant has been dropped by Sunrise after items appeared in the newspaper about a supposed rift between Melissa Doyle and David Koch.

Executive producer Adam Boland is said to be disappointed in the items, which although weren’t written by Grant, appeared in her column.

Grant was hired to appear three times a week on Sunrise, appearing live on-set with Doyle and Koch for about a month before she was sacked last Wednesday morning.

Boland reportedly felt it was appropriate for her to continue working on Sunrise, according to The Australian.

Seven has denied there is any rift between its co-hosts, which was noted in both Daily Telegraph articles.

Seven sources claimed Grant was dropped because she knew the story not to be true before publishing. Grant is said to be is outraged that Boland expected her to censor negative stories about Sunrise simply because she was on the show.
