Gary Coleman: car-crash stardom

Look who's back in the news again for all the wrong reasons.

Former child star Gary Coleman is back in the news again after a run in with an “aggressive fan” in a Utah bowling alley.

But it’s a case of “whatchoo talkin’ bout?” when it comes to the finer detail of what went down.

Coleman’s bodyguard said that 24-year-old Colt Rushton approached the former Diff’rent Strokes star and his wife and asked to snap a cell phone photo. After Gary said no, Rushton continued to harass the actor, and was eventually hit by Coleman’s truck after darting behind it while the actor was leaving at around midnight.

Rushton’s more violent side of the story claims says Coleman’s wife snatched his cell phone from him, and Coleman threw several punches at him before getting behind the wheel. Colt said he was trying to get his cell phone back when Gary threw his truck into gear and backed into him, knocking him to the ground.

Colt was treated and released from a local hospital. Coleman also hit another car.

No arrests or citations were given but police say alcohol may be a factor. The incident is still under investigation.

Coleman has made headlines a number of times including suing his parents and former manager over misappropriation of funds, an assault charge in 1998 after he punched a woman, a citation for misdemeanor disorderly conduct, and an appearance on Divorce Court due to marital difficulties.
