Rove meets Leno #3

In tonight’s episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, you can catch Rove McManus in his third appearance on the show.

Both times he has appeared, Rove and Leno have hit it off very well, with some speculation he is seeking his own US show. He even scored a line in Variety on that front…

Of his latest visit Rove reckons this is about as good as it gets.

“I have been waiting for the right time to come back over and as soon as I saw the Aussie dollar hit 62c I pounced,” he said.

The ep which also features Sarah Silverman and The Kooks airs tonight on the Comedy Channel at 10:30pm AEDST.

Oh Please, your not going to add that stupid throw away line about how Rove was “in the running” for Lenos job onto his PR-CV are you now?
Rove is hopeless, un-funny, over-confident and utterly clueless when it comes to doing an interview.
Big Brother outrated Rove all this year and it got the axe, how about Channel Ten do themselves a favor and move on in to the 21st century…

Rove was absolutely cringeworthy last time he was on Leno. I hope he’s better this time.

I’ll be watching this tonight, but mainly because of Sarah, I can’t stand Leno.

i have to agree Rove can not interview and it seems everything has to be about him. His jokes are terrible and well im just sour cause his production company wouldn’t let me write stuff for them so i’ll shut up now!

Vixen… The story from Variety was he was in the running for CONAN’S job… Not Leno’s. It was never going to happen as Lorne Michaels (SNL) who is Exec Prod. of Conan’s show “Late Night” always wanted ex-SNL’er Jimmy Fallon.

But please, don’t let the facts get in the way of your blind hatred :-)

Personally I think Rove’s great - the show and the man.

Thank you David for reporting on him :)

To be honest, I love Rove, I watch it every week. But why is he appearing on Leno? Last time was because he did a few episodes of Rove there so he could watch a production of 5th grader so he knew what to do. But why this time?

Apparently he and Leno get along really well and obviously Rove want’s to break into the market.

Last time he was on all he could do was bag Perth’s skyline, what the hell are they going to talk about this time?

Now now Mike, this is Australia after all. Some of us are busy living lives rather than cramming pop culture facts and figures for an entirely different country into our heads :)

Either way, Rove will never be an American hit, he is barely surviving here.
And blind hatred would be wishing horrible things on him, calling a talentless guy a talentless guy who surrounds himself with people who are way funnier than him is mre the truth.
    Hows those Apples?

This was very awkward to watch. His humour just didn’t fly and was it just me or did he seem like he was always interrupting Jay?

The pash at the end was pretty funny.

Wow - so much hate for just a TV presenter

Have to say the audience in the studio loved him, much better than their lead guest on the night, when the show was aired they had cut out about 3 minutes of Sarah Silverman and added laughs. In the studio she went really flat and the audience didn’t really respond that much, on the other hand they loved Rove and the Leno people put it to air exactly how it happened.

    Dear Dodge,
Criticism although a touch spiteful Dodge does not amount to hate.
As for Rove being just “A TV Presenter” your sure as eggs on the money there.
Rove’s celebrity and TV empire given he’s just “a TV presenter” is perplexing. Rove produces several shows that are on our TV screens and these programs generate plenty of personal and corporate wealth, most if not all of his productions are cringe worthy ……Ronnie Johns Half Hour was the exception.
Rove from a personal perspective seems like a really decent bloke but reasons for his TV domination defy logic especially given Rove is just a “TV presenter” ?

why was he on there? what is he plugging to the Americans?
I bet the Americans are going ‘who is this guy?’

Stephen Barr, Roving Enterprises didn’t produce Ronnie Johns Half Hour, you might have it mixed up with Skithouse. That show was produced by Roving Enterprises.

    3rd time
    what the ?!?!

  18. Stephen Barr on November 3rd, 2008 3:18 pm

    Dear Earthquake,
I stand corrected on Ronnie Johns……….That means Rove produces zero entertainment.
    Thanks

Rove stinks. I can’t believe he still is on TV.

  20. Chris on November 30th, 2008 2:55 pm

Rove is awesome, but I got to say the tv show isn’t as good as it use to be. The show before 2006 or 2007 ( Cant remebver ) had more guest on had things like “What The”, “Hang Up” “Don’t Hang Up” and heaps of other good stuff. Don’t get me wrong Rove is an awesome and funny guy but the show isn’t that good anymore.

Got something to say?
