2008: The Roll Call
They were actors, writers, comperes, singers, journalists, critics and even executives. But they were all linked by television. Here is a list of those we bid goodbye to in 2008.

They were actors, writers, comperes, singers, journalists, critics and even executives.
Some were leaders in their field, others quiet achievers.
Some lived long, rich lives, others were taken from us far too soon.
Some went on to Hollywood fame, others were local industry professionals.
But they were all linked by television at one stage or another.
Here is a list of those we bid goodbye to in 2008.

so very sad to see all these names some gone before their time and some legends here. I will miss many of them.
Thanks for mentioning Sandra Harvey. A quality lady, a brilliant writer, and an excellent political minder. She was taken away to soon.
Richard Marsland 🙁
I’m still quite sad about Mark Priestley, taken from us way too soon!
You forgot Majel Barrett Roddenberry of Star Trek who also died this year.
R.I.P Mark Priestly.
Nice to see a shot of Michael Pate.He was a staple on our screens in years gone by & it was suprising his death was not covered a great deal. One of the great screen presence of his generation.
Vale Christie Allen also who forever will remain part of the Countdown family,a show that infuenced my life & my love of music.Goose Bumps indeed.
And a special mention to Reg Varney, not a bad innings.”I’ve got you this time Butler”!
