Gone: The Doctors. Returning: Dr. Phil

By David Knox on February 25, 2009 / Filed Under Programming 16

drphil_1TEN’s new daytime show The Doctors will be out taking house calls in March as Dr. Phil moves back into the schedule.

Dr. Phil returns from 12pm Monday March 9th with an “Octuplet Special Week.”

Whilst this could well be TEN responding to a topical subject given recent news in America (which was even featured on Sunday Night this week) the show is also struggling in its timeslot at around 120,000 or less.

The Doctors yesterday failed to make the daily Top 100 while The Ellen De Generes Show sits at around 200,000.

A spokesperson for TEN indicated the plan for midday was always to rotate the shows.

The Doctors is produced by Dr. Phil‘s production company.

could replace ‘ready steady cook’ – at least the docs do not touch and maul the guests

I watched his show on bio-identical hormones today and it was relief to watch the show and know that there can be life after menapause. Only problem is where on the sunshine coast is there a practitioner that practices the Dr Hall method?

I really liked The Doctors show because it dealt with everyday medical problems that most people don’t like to deal with. It has been a wake up call for us.

I am so glad Dr Phil is back. Lunchtime was so emty without Dr Phil to watch. I look forward to sitting down to Dr Phil and Oprah at lunchtime. I don’t mind it the Doctors returns as long as it does not replace Dr Phil. They should take off “ready steady cook” instead. Thats when I turn the TV off and resume my housework.

I remember being at a Chinese restaurant eating delicious food, while hearing someone talk about children and puberty. I’d rather listen to Dr. Phil talking about stingy house wives and lack of committed fathers…. hehe.. Welcome back Dr. Phil!

I think the Doctors is a great show, and think people should give it a go.

So glad that Dr. Phil is replacing the Drs. After the first episode, I changed channels. Looked forward to lunch with Dr. Phil, dare I say, someone in Channel 10 actually knows what the viewers want!!!!

I have no idea why Ten decided to replace it with “The Doctors” in the first place.

oh don’t they caption it? that’s pretty mean.

well i personally wasn’t a fan of the doctors, it wasn’t in widescreen, and dr phil’s son’s voice is annoying.

    It is captioned.
