Your guide to ONE

TV Tonight brings you a complete Guide to programming on ONE in its first week.

oneChannel TEN will launch its 24 hour high definition channel ONE with a half hour Welcome to ONE special at 7:30pm on Thursday March 26 followed by AFL Football and Swimming Skins.

It is preceded by a “Countdown to One” from 6am.

A Richmond v Carlton game will air at 8pm local time in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth followed by Swimming Australia Skins at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre.

Swimming Skins will air at 8pm in Sydney and Brisbane followed by the AFL match.

In the next 24 hours ONE will screen NASCAR, BMX, Mountainbike, Motorsport and athletics.

NCAA Basketball and Formula 1 practice will screen live in all cities on Friday 27th March at varying times.

In the lead-up to ONE, the channel screens other sports including 2009 Telstra Australian Swimming Championships Heats, live NBA and NCAA Basketball.

In the days following its launch ONE offers everything from Paintball and Power Boating to Golf and World’s Strongest Man plus a 7pm half hour Sports Tonight.

For those without a HD TV or set top box, identical programming can be seen on Standard Definition on Channel 12.

The launch of ONE is the first major move by a commercial Free to Air Network as it gravitates towards a complete switch to digital television and the forthcoming Freeview platform. It will also mean the end of TEN HD and availability of other programmes in high definition.

Seven and Nine are yet to reveal details of their plans.

  1. Well here we are 14/10/11 and no baseball at 0600 are you not ashamed of yourselves. We get up from bed to watch a game reset alarm to watch at 0600 and your arrogant programmers let us down again, what can i say. You obviously do not care about your viewers. I am wasting my time !!!!!

  2. Once again you advertise baseball and this time we get soccer 12/10/11 0600 hrs I have rung your office on many occasions to get a dusty response, us the public do not deserve this type of disdain and total disregard from your non caring phone staff and your arrogant programmers. I hope that 13/10/11 you will deign to fullfill our desire to see game 3 at one of the advertised times as I trust that game 2 does no longer matter to you people.

  3. What’s the use of having the rights to the World Swimming Championships in Shanghai and showing them 2 hours later instead they show an old movie at 8.30 Babylon AD Whoopie Do you have any brains One HD ????

  4. why do we have to have the common wealth games on 10 and 1hd. and why do you put on yanky sports on we have plenty of oz sports to show. eg: boat racing car racing, afl ,

  5. i would like to thank ‘ONE’ for the complete stuff up of your advertised screening of the Moto GP. on sunday at12.50 pm i came in from the garage and as usual the programme was not on, it also was not on on monday at 12.55, and also not on tuesday 5.30 – 8.00,
i enjoy a bit of footy and a bit of rugby but as an old time racer from the 50s/60s
i like to watch the bikes, though they are not the bikes we rode but electronic animals but all that is left for us oldies.
I did not see anything to say it was not coming on and i was not at all surprised at the ignorant and arrogant attitude that abounds in the TV media, and as all stations find it impossible to even get times correct.

  6. Oi! Hands off the baseball love – greatest game in the world. Theres more goin on in this world than just footy and cricket. And I’ve suffered through footy, cricket and golf since the ’91 coverage ended. Just tell me this ONE HD: Will we be seeing World Series action? ;and if so will Anne Fulwood be sticking her head on the TV just before the final game of the series to tell us the result?

    Lovin’ it!

  7. Why can’t One HD show 2AFL matches in Canberra, oinstead they put the same match on both channels. Why can’t we have a choice of matches, they broadcast a different match in Melbourne, not all Canberra supporters want to see Sydney !!!

  8. Any chance of getting some soccer on One HD? I know it is unlikely to get EPL however La Liga ,Serie A or Bundesliga would be good.

Even a highlights package would be a start!

  9. Channel one, has its pros and cons. Pro- NBA (though not enough!), Racing, IPL cricket, Worlds strongest man, Some good footy too. Cons -Netball (far too much of it when the comp is on), Baseball (this aint the US), Some really bad hosts (that dweeb with blonde hair who always tries to mock luke darcy!) and the fact that its not shown in regional WA, just Perth (in WA). But all in all, its a great idea, i love sports and this channel has really saved the day. There is something for everyone and most of which hasn’t been previously accessible by Tv owners (or in this case HD tv), such as NBA. I just hope they dont favour certain teams or sports and try and balance it all out

  10. I notice Ten don’t feel the need to televise F1 qualifying (at 2am in the morning), now that One is operating… Great for those who don’t have access to One!
