Next Wave surf to hit TEN

By David Knox on June 3, 2009 / Filed Under News 4

tmA new TV series showcasing Australia’s junior surf pros will hit Network TEN from August.

The series, sponsored by a noodle company, is another in the growing field of entertainment driven by sponsors rather than networks.

Next Wave
promises to unearth grassroots surfing in Australia and introduce our next generation of surfing idols.

Hosted by Pro Surfer Toby Martin each episode follows elite juniors, including top talent Teale Vanner, Owen Wright and Laura Enever, from House to Ocean meeting their families, friends and fellow surfers along the way. Novice surfing celebrities to appear in one segment will include Xavier Rudd, Erin McNaught, Trevor Hendy, Shannan Ponton and Maz Compton.

$20,000 is on offer in prize money.
