Over 12,000 applications have been received by the ABC for its nationwide search for new presenters for ABC3.
The application website has had over 50,000 visits.
On June 18, ABC TV put out a casting call for “big personalities” to apply for one of a number of presenter positions on the new digital kids channel, ABC3. The channel will launch before the end of the year.
Some applicants have begun their own Facebook group to gather support, posted their audition video on YouTube, or pitched themselves to their local newspaper for a story.
There are only 10 days left in the ABC’s ‘Me On 3’ nationwide search for new talent.
You can apply via abc.net.au/meon3 until 5pm AEST Friday July 17, 2009.

This new channel sounds cool, this is going to create a lot of new australian talent. well done ABC
I think the channel and logo will be ABC3Kids or something like that with ABC3 …
They might just go with the traditional ABCKids logo, or the green ABCKids logo with the words “ABCKids” in blue.
But yeah I doubt they will use the ABC1 or ABC2 logo format, as it is not chlid-like at all.
@Glen My guess is that the red portion is indeed the logo. Figuring it’s a kids channel, very much separate to ABC1 & ABC2 it makes sense to have a different styled logo.
David, is that going to be the new ABC3 logo, whether than a logo similar used on ABC1 and ABC2?
