Seinfeld reunion Part 2?
Nine is at it again.
This just in…
“The Seinfeld Reunion Pt. 2 (Curb Your Enthusiasm)” airs 9pm next Tuesday October 27th.
Having aired Episode 3 of Series 7, now it is skipping straight to Episode 6 a week later.
I can’t be bothered saying anything nice, so my mother taught me not to say anything at all….

aussie tv is bad enough, with 4 or 5 ad breaks in half hour shows and then for chanel 9 to pull a stunt like this! i’m sick that i’ve been conned into thinking last weeks episode was the first of the new Curb series. i had turned a blind eye to the fact that they were shamelessly advertising it as ‘the seinfeld reunion’ cause i was so over the moon that it was finally being aired here.. but to start with episode 3 and then skip to 6 is just ludicrous. only in australia would this happen
Can anyone tell me if they are airing the episodes in their entirety?
‘Cos the actual episodes are about 29 minutes long usually, and thats with no commercials.
So what i’m wondering, is how is the next program going to start at 9:30pm? they must be cutting out like 7-8 minutes of it to fit in commercials…
Channel 9 have stooped to a new low, ACA saying their was a ‘Seinfeld Reunion’ show coming to channel 9?
Now people who dont follow Curb are labelling the show a bunch of garbage.
Channel 9 are cashing in majorly on this ‘Reunion’ B.S , and everyone who was a fan is falling for it. Im a fan of both and I find it annoying how everyone is tellin me how crap the new ‘Seinfeld’ episode was! Yep, people have no idea do they.
Good luck to channel 9, why dont they just put on repeats of the ‘Footy show’ while they are at it
I don’t understand. This will the best ratings nine can squeeze from this show, but all those extra viewers will just be left thinking the network and it’s brand are either desperate and conniving or stupid.
This is like luring a kid with promised chocolate and then throwing coco in their face instead. Coco’s good, but not out of context and not when you were promised chocolate and not when it’s thrown in your face.
Who’s going to trust you when you promise chocolate again Nine? Not the million extra viewers you just tricked.
The only winners are the people who’d never seen Curb, liked the seinfeld eps and then went and downloaded the rest of the show online.
The Nine of Old from the Kerry Packer Days is Dead.
Almost 2010 and no signof a new game show of any sort for the 7pm weeknight timeslot after ACA is a disgrace.
I used to remember as a kid before starting High School 7pm was Sale of the Century Time in our home shows like that make a person smarter not dumbasses like Charlie and Alan Harper 2,5 men.
Why don’t they just air the new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm? It’s beyond me why the hell Australian TV channels are constantly showing crap programs instead of quality programs. And this “Seinfeld Reunion” is the biggest croc of s**t. Why would you deprive the public of this? Why????
I’m still trying to figure out why they did this while GO! is still playing the previous season!
huh? why can’t they just play this show in full and air it regularly, its a good show! Could be 9′s equivalent to 7′s late night Scrubs..
I dont mind them leaving out the other episodes. i’m a big curb fan.
the only thing i think, is just that they should wait till they have all aired, then air them on consecutive weeks. even if it was just the seinfeld episodes.
i thought they could have a made a reference to Michael Richards stand up bungle – maybe as a reason why the ‘seinfeld reunion’ finally gets canned. Or maybe Larry David could be seen giving Michael tips on how to treat a heckler. Now thats Gold Jerry!
Well said David. This is an episode of a program called Curb your Enthusiasm, yet it’s being promoted as Seinfeld in big letters, and CYE (the actual name of the program) in small print.
@jay jay That’s true, it is a niche show. But to show select episodes, out-of-context, has been a rip-off for all viewers. The fans of Curb who have now been dropped into a series mid-way through, and the fans of Seinfeld who thought they were getting an actual reunion show but weren’t.
its a low-rating series, has an extrememly niche audience in Australia and season 7 will end up being shown in full on either GO! or The Comedy Channel eventually. If you’re that in love with the show, just feel the need to complain.
Michael Healy should be dragged out to the helipad.
Unbelievable… Nine deserves to loose the ratings year.
Curb you enthusiasm is a load of crap… nine are making the right decision not to show this steaming pile of excrement other than to cash in on Seinfeld.
Are they going to show season 7 after season 6 ends on GO?
Having seen eps1-5 already & with eps 6 airing in the US sunday it’s a fast track but Wow There just stupid tho we shouldn’t be shocked…
Revoke Nine’s TV licence and give it to Channel 31! If Nine don’t care about their product why should we?!
Judging by the huge number of negative comments on twitter, this was a very dumb move. Fool me once and so on..
It’s no wonder that Quality shows like Curb rarely make it big in Australia when they’re so badly mismanaged by the networks – and don’t get me started on Dexter!
Not really a fan of CYE, sure there were a couple of funny moments in the “seinfeld reunion” last night… but honestly, it hardly should qualify as a reunion, all it was was a show talking about doing a reunion.
Contempt doesn’t even cover it. At least they could have run them as one hour episodes to jump to the Seinfeld content, or run the first two late at night for fans… infuriating.
Of course Nine care about us bitching about this about as much as they care about the show itself.
I knew last night wasnt it! There was always going to be a part 2! Cant wait even though its not as good as the original
Wow! Talk about fast tracking [and skipping major episodes] – that’s about 48 hours, that’s some fast turn-around by Nine
I’m blown away by their programming decisions. The way last nights “reunion” was promoted, it’s no wonder why it rated as it did. Not a very good way to introduce first timers to CYE, a lot of people would have turned off in droves after discovering that this was not a “reunion” as such. But more for the curious nature of seeing how old the main cast look these days.
The actual reunion in the storyline doesn’t take place until the final two episodes of the season, will be interesting to see if Channel 9 intend on showing that (they’ve already stuffed things up by jumping ahead).
I am happy to declare that I am a huge Curb fan, but in no way was going to yield to Channel 9′s obvious attempt to grab viewers by misrepresenting it promoting it as a Seinfeld reunion. It makes no sense whatsover to pluck an episode out of a series and out of context run it as a stand alone. To add insult to creative injury, they now jump another 3 eps and in what must be the quickest fast track play ep 6 – which airs Sunday i think in the States, and run it next Tues. I will wait for the series in its entirety and enjoy the brilliance of Larry and the gang as they should be seen.
Shame Channel 9 – how low can you go!
didn’t 9 sell off Seinfeld in the 9′ties? Now they’re all over it, both here and on 99. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
“I can’t be bothered saying anything nice, so my mother taught me not to say anything at all….” – sums it up for me too. For now at least.
I think i may have just started hating nine more than seven
And they sit there in the boardroom scratching their heads like chimpanzees wondering why people download TV shows…
**** ! ‘Heart’ my ****.
Curb Your Enthusiasm also has story arcs diverting from the main ones, and details from previous episodes make for hilarious impact in subsequent episodes.
Wait, wait! Channel 9 is still on the air!
Wait didn’t they show ep 1&2 of the season last night (I didn’t watch) And they wonder why people DL shows!
It’s things like this that make me wait for the dvd……or just download shows.
FFS
Will ep 6 have aired by then?
Why don’t they show 4-5-6? or did they realize not many fans Seinfeld sat through eps 1&2 last night?
This is rubbish from a crap network!
How lovely of 9 to treat their loyal viewers with respect and fans of Curb Your Enthusiasm – Not!!
All I can say is…………Sweet Fancy Moses.
Obviously they do not heart TV anymore at Nine. They just go about bludgeoning it to death.
thats a bit weird.
No wonder so many people just download these shows
awesome show by the way.. shame 9 didnt air the first 2 episodes, theyre hilarious!
