Grant Bowler sinks teeth into True Blood

gb2He’s definitely the new Alan Dale….

Grant Bowler has landed a role in Season 3 of True Blood -but he won’t say as what.

It follows his role in Ugly Betty and Lost.

“Mate, it’s HBO and it’s the King … it’s the chance to work for an Oscar-winner [series creator Allan Ball] and alongside an Oscar-winner [Anna Paquin],” he told the Sunday Telegraph.

Ugly Betty rolls from deep, one-on-one connected, touching realism to absolute farce to physical comedy and clowning and everything in between – I love it.”

At this rate he’ll have to start recording voice-over work for Border Security in the US!

Season two of True Blood ends on Showcase this Tuesday, while fellow Aussie Ryan Kwanten was said to be heading back to the US to begin shooting the third season.

Grant Bowler was born in NZ and raised in Australia, he has a NZ mother and an Australian father just recently saw an interview with him saying this but he says he is both as to not get upset either country. So he is both.

The Hollywood Reporter has an update: “Bowler will play Coot, a werewolf, the menacing ringleader of a biker gang.”

So Wolf will play a wolf. Awesome.

The bit where it says” While fellow aussie…” doesn’t really make any sense.
Last time I checked Grant Bowler was a Kiwi. When did that change?

Fantastic!!! I was so cut when he was killed off Lost; we need more Aussies on that show and he was a good one I love True Blood :) Any word whether he’ll have to don the thick Southern accent?

Grant’s deserving of a big break in the U.S and hopefully True Blood is that step towards it.

That’s awesome news! He’s a very talented actor, I liked his work in Outrageous Fortune such a great actor can’t wait to see how he goes in true blood.
