In October Nine News presenter Peter Hitchener was unflappable when a “giant seagull” tried to upstage him.
Seems thanks to The Inquiry on Channel 31, he also got a little bit of payback a few weeks ago….

I think they’ve done a good job… Great to see them giving it a go and having a laugh!
Oh for goodness sakes, don’t put words in my mouth, I never said that. All I’m saying is that providing a platform for young and emerging producers to practice their craft is important and can only strengthen the industry. So before taking digs at community broadcasters think about the opportunities they provide they provide and the careers they’ve helped build.
The final episode for 2009 is on this Friday 9.30pm on Channel 31 Melbourne & Geelong.

@JB
Huh?, so all presenters, producers and teams came from community TV did they.
I wonder how everything worked before it.
Rove did do a similar gag, the following Sunday
Go The Inquiry…. let’s face it those kids are funny!
Before you start slagging off at community TV, just think about how terrible a lot of commercial television would be if the presenters, producers and teams hadn’t had the opportunity to build their skills in a supportive community environment. Good on ya SYN, doing great work. Great to see young people giving it a shot!
It’s community TV, produced by volunteers.
I thought it was great.
Didn’t Rove do something similar during PeteSpace?
i dont get it, was that supposed to be funny? – i was expecting to actually see peter hitchener upstaging some seagulls on their news or something….not just a still of him going behind some presenter waffling on…..come on….!
I have to agree with Tom Tom.
And they got a digital licence for this!
lame.
