The ABC has picked up the rights for Wibbly Pig, a new animated series for pre-schoolers.
The 52 x 10’ series from the creators and producers of Tweenies is adapted from the books by author Mick Inkpen, and takes children on an adventure through familiar rituals such as bedtime, mealtime and games with Wibbly Pig as their best friend.
Each episode invites the child into “a simple world free from day to day limitations, and engages them in an active and interactive experience.”
“This is a very special show,” said Tim Brooke-Hunt, Executive Head of Children’s Entertainment. “I am pleased to be able to bring the creativity and originality of Wibbly Pig to young Australian audiences.”
The series from Wish Films will air later in 2010.

Brilliant – my kids loved the Martin Clunes voiced Kipper and when going through their preschool books recently I was not allowed to throw out any of the Mick Inkpens!!
Hmm a rabbit and a pig in bed… just fry some eggs, put them either side and burp, there’s brekky 😛
