Real life drama halts Neighbours shoot

Filming on Neighbours was cancelled last Friday after a distressed Extra disrupted production and was escorted from the set.

Filming on Neighbours was cancelled last Friday after a distressed Extra disrupted production and was escorted from the set.

“It was a bit of a shock,” producer Susan Bower told the Herald Sun.

“One of our regular Extras wasn’t really feeling the best and started behaving in an extraordinary way.

“She was very distressed and swung her hand and knocked a glass off a table.”

A number of items were reportedly broken during the incident.

Filming was cancelled and cast and crew had been removed from the set until police arrived. The name of the woman, who left willingly with police, was not released by FremantleMedia.

Neighbours resumed filming on the set of ‘Charlie’s Bar’ on Monday.

    1. My understanding this is incorrect.

The Sun in the UK has reported this based on the original article in the Herald Sun, with no new information. Yes a glass was knocked and it caused a slice on her wrist. The Sun story was then copied again in some Aus media.

Similarly, there was no smashing up of the set, all of which I endeavoured to reflect by the article here. It was a distrubance and it disrupted filming. But it’s not as good a story as going beserk is it?

  1. Damn, Susan Bower is still in charge. So Neighbours descent in the ratings and quality will continue for the foreseeable year. I’m predicting new lows for both the quality and ratings.

As for the girl, I bet James is correct.

David, they weren’t having a go at the girl, they were just jokes at the expense of Neighbours. Drug Abuse is also a major problem in this country too, but hey lets not speculate. 🙂

  2. Fliiping heck people how insensitive can you be?

Whether you like the show or not, someone was obviously in a great deal of distress and your immature comments are not helping anyone.

  3. Well that spoils things. I thought Neighbours was a fly-on-the-wall documentary about typical families in a typical suburb in Melbourne. Nice spoiler David. Will now have to watch the Sydney documentary Home & Away.

  4. Given the speculation, and more or less, the affirmation, that this person may have suffered, or is suffering from, a mental illness, this post should perhaps been best left unposted..? Sure HS did so, but why the need to further report on what will likely be an embarrassing event for the person in question?
