Resume normal programming

By David Knox on March 8, 2010 / Filed Under News 9

Normal programming resumed (almost) with Week 10 of ratings, with the exception of the Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony and Sunday competition.

That was enough to see Seven snatch back the week’s trophy, after losing two weeks to Nine.

The Seven Network won with 30.1% share over Nine’s 28.9% and TEN’s 19.0%. The ABC had 16.6% and SBS 5.5%.

In key demos Seven won 16-39 and Nine won 18-49 and 25-54.

On digital channels the shares were: GO! and 7TWO 3.4%, ABC2 1.5%, ONE 0.8%, ABC3 and SBS TWO 0.5%.

Seven won Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday while Nine took Sunday and Thursday. Seven won Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth while Sydney and Melbourne both fell to Nine. The ABC defeated TEN on Friday and Saturday.

Two and a Half Men was the #1 show of the week with 1.43m viewers.

Strictly speaking the week was the final of the four Olympics-affected weeks for the year, but networks will be likely to drop just two from their end of year wrap ups.

Good to see 7two matching GO in the rating though they should be higher they offer much more choice and not 3 times same day repeats of old shows.

  5. Jerome March 8, 2010 at 11:25 am -

ten are in a big hole, not only are their total people shares very low, and only have 2 shows above 1mil, they cannot back it up with demo wins. even in the demo that they always have had in the bag, 16-39, they are coming a distant 3rd in a mostly non-olympic week. which would be a huge worry to them.

week 10 16-39 shares (commercial only)
    7: 34.7%
    9: 34.6%
    TEN: 30.8%

Great to see My Kitchen Rules doing so well.on Ch 7, should be even better this week.

Sad to see Ch 10 doing so badly, however nothing will change in their ratings until they listen to the Viewing Public and make programming changes.
