Ovation guide drops offline

When Ovation disappeared from Foxtel and Austar screens on Thursday it also disappeared from online TV Guides too.

When Ovation disappeared from Foxtel and Austar screens on Thursday it also disappeared from online TV Guides too.

The arts channel was replaced by newcomer STVDIO on packages offered by the two Pay TV giants, but remains on Optus and SelecTV.

Yet those remaining subscribers might be having a tricky time finding out what’s on for April, especially given Optus no longer publishes a print magazine.

Optus dropped the magazine after its February edition and said subscribers could use online guides and EPGs instead.

But even on its own website, the link to its TV Guide, hosted by EBroadcast, no longer lists the Ovation schedule.

From June 1 the channel becomes available to Foxtel and Austar subscribers through new arrangements, between $6-$10 per month.

Meanwhile, the Ovation site remains the best still-active place to find out what’s airing in April.

Amended.

  1. Thanks Reubot. Yes YourTV still has it in the Optus and SelecTV listings, so apologies for any confusion.

It remains unlisted in the EBroadcast guide which is the one that links to the Optus site, which with the loss of the magazine is pretty silly. Hopefully Ovation viewers can use the link here to see what’s on for April.

  2. Let’s hope Ovation continues to be a success. And don’t forget the real reason why they are forced to be a standalone channel on Foxtel/Austar!

This pay TV operator has form what they do to channels (and content) they themselves personally do not like.

Now we have there take on Arts and are subscribers impressed? And why just one channel for arts? Talk about being narrow and myopic!

By the way since the start of April has there been a good day in the Foxtel call centre?

This company really has no idea and only alienates a demographic group that has followed this channel for years and years.

  3. Why? How did this happen?
This Ovation is starting to sound like a company with no idea.
After being dumped from Austar & foxtel, you think they woukd at least make sure their listings are widely avail online for their subscribers paying $120 a year!
