Ramsay Street to change streetname
Iconic Ramsay Street is set to change its name to 25th Avenue, in celebration of Neighbours' 25 year run.

Neighbours today has a news post on its official website that reckons it is changing its name from Ramsay Street to 25th Avenue, in celebration of a 25 year run.
Susan Bower, executive producer, said: “No other Australian drama has reached this incredible milestone and I think it’s so important to remember this occasion. 25th Avenue marks the beginning of our next 25 years, it’s so exciting.
“One of the reasons Neighbours has been so successful is we have continued to evolve with the times and this is just another adjustment which may take time getting used to but I’m confident fans will embrace it.”
Furthering the curious April mystery, Alan Fletcher said, “I completely endorse the change, however I am a little nervous Karl won’t find his way home!”
Jackie Woodburne who’s character has lived on Ramsay Street for 15 years added, “Initially I thought it sounded very American, a bit like 5th Avenue in New York, however fans can rest assured we’ll all still be shopping at Harolds.”
Alarmed fans should take note of today’s date before they begin howls of protest.

hahaha. I was all set to say “you have got to be kidding me” until I realised what the date was.
this is definatly an aprils fools surely they couldnt be that stupid to change it from ramsey street into 25th avenue if it was on channel 9 then i would belive it because they would do something stupid like that
Wow. I am So slow. I didn’t even think about it being a joke until the last line of the story. I actually got a little bit upset by the idea that it wouldn’t be called Ramsay street any more! Haha! Nice work Neighbours…
Aww you should’ve played it super-serious, like it was true and not included the last line =) The site probably would’ve been overloaded with Neighbours fans all simultaneously screaming, “WTF?” Happy April Fools, everyone!

Thats absurd, no need to change the streets name. That should do it for those people who still bother with it, new producer is needed.
As soon as I read this, I knew it was an April Fools Joke. Just like last year with the supposed new version of Hey Dad with Nudge as the dad.

What! the characters aren’t going to refer to the street as 25th street as it will be out of context and the real street they use isn’t called Ramsay St anyway, what are they talking about???

Haha, good point about it being April Fools. But if it’s true, I think it’s a bit stupid. “Ramsey Street” is pretty much the biggest icon in Neighbours and changing that could be the start (or the middle/end depending on your opinion) of it’s downfall. I liked that they finally bought the Ramseys back to the street with Kate, Harry and Sophie but changing the name pretty much makes that pointless.
the sad thing is, that whilst this may be an April Fool, it does sound like the kinda dumb move Susan Bower would pull.
Not bad… but giving it away on the last line kind of ruins the point!
