And here it is…
TV Tonight can now reveal the finale details for Lost in Australia.
The final 2.5 hr episode will air 8:30 -11:00pm on Wednesday May 26th on Seven. It will also air in high definition on 7HD simultaneously.
It will be repeated later on 7TWO at 11pm.
Airing the final episode on Seven in primetime is a significant move by the network given it now has a cult audience.
In the US where it still enjoys broader appeal advertisements are being sold at a premium rate. It has also been elevated to a Sunday night finale by ABC on May 23rd which has created programming challenges for Seven having just caught up this week with an episode just hours off the satellite. That is believed to have required frantic behind-the-scenes organising with ABC just to deliver it on time.
A two hour catch-up special Lost: The Final Journey will air on Tuesday 25th May on 7TWO at 9:30pm and repeated at 12 midday Wednesday May 26 on Seven.

The show ended in May 2010 when this story was written. Anything else you spy is a rerun.
I thought this show had already finished. is this a repeat for those who did not see the end the first time or what. I know that I did not fully go along with the end that I remember.
Lost is a steaming pile of pretentious crap.
The airing of the finale so late behind the US is a massive deal. Those who use the internet regularly will be treated to some Extreme spoilers that will not be held back. It’s enough to make you forget how illegal downloading is.
Well i guess i’ll be avoiding the internet for a couple of days next week, then.
a) Seriously… how long can they all stay on an island and not be found… I mean gang at Gilligans Island developed a phone out of a coconut 40 years ago…
b) Black smoke kidnapping people… Seriously… Supernatural?
So first off people complain about us being 4-6 months behind US tv- fair enough.
Then people complain about us being a few weeks behind the US- ok so that’s not too unreasonable a call.
Then people complain about Aussie networks being a week behind the US- now that’s an unreasonable compalint.
And now we are having complaints about us being 2 days behind the US- well I’ll let you judge that one for yourselves.
Hey moo cow and Rick, don’t forget to let David know what your TV schedule is so that he can delay posting anything about it until after you’ve gotten around to watching it.
Me, I can’t wait but will have to as it deserves to be seen on a decent screen from a comfy chair.
2 days isn’t that long to wait considering it will be in HD and in Prime Time
Believe it or not there are people out there who may not have access to or choose not to use torrents. And I’m sure those people would be pleased as punch that Seven are showing it relatively close to the US airing.
so that 2 days without going on the internet to avoid the inevitable spoilers? guess that beats 1 week anyways
That is a damn good promo
Surely they would wanna move it to Monday night. Up against State of Origin is not smart, but then again Seven aren’t that smart either.
Seriously Channel 7!! Just show it on Monday.
I am not going to wait 2 days with the risk of getting it spoiled for me.
Great news Thanx for the update David.
Can’t wait.
bummer…. i cant stand watching tv on a computer screen…. guess i wont be goin online for a few days… its movie quality tv anyway… deserves a bigscreen viewing…
at first glance it seems like channel 7 r doin lost fans a favor… but i think in reality they know its against state of origin and they’d normally just conceed and chuck on some repeated movie anyways…
if they really wanted to do us fans a favor it’d air on monday
Given that it is SoO in the NRL mad East Coast :-), I expect the 7two replay to rate quiet well in Sydney and Brisbane especially.
wonder what will be on 7two that night, wouldn’t want to put anything good on against the lost finale and state of origin.
I am afraid it will get smashed by State of Origin in Sydney and Brisbane.
I tip my hat to 7 for airing last week only hours after the U.S. I’m a huge Lost fan so I don’t know If I can wait out the 2 days. If 7 aired it on the Monday then I’d most certainly be watching.
Cannot wait! It’s going to be sad though, no more lost ever again. However I am glad that the writers decided to give it an ending, something that is vital in any good story.
