MasterChef “twist” coming…

Post-London week, MasterChef will unveil a "massive twist."

Make what you will of this…
From TEN’s upcoming  Guide:

MasterChef Australia
7:30pm Sunday June 27
After a whirlwind trip to London, the seven returning contestants have yet another surprise in store, a massive twist that will test their commitment, skill and determination in the competition.

Last year several eliminated contestants returned to the contest to compete in a challenge that saw them enter the game again, including Poh Ling Yeow.

Is TEN planning to repeat the stunt?

  1. You are all wrong.
    The twist is
Cook your variation of a Dim Sim

Have only ever watched about 10 minutes in total of this show and it was cooking a Chiko Roll.

    Another great chef idea 😉

  2. In the British series each year they have a ‘comeback week’ in which contestants from the previous series compete for a chance to try again in the current series. I don’t think they’ll do this but it’d be a bit of fun :).

  3. The twist is a secret cooking school in outback Queensland – where alternative contestants have been put through their paces by the Commando Chef for the past few weeks. They will be invited to compete for a place on the show.

  4. Here’s my tip for the twist: it’s the judges who have to cook for the contestants, then the contestants get to decide which one has to walk … my vote would have to be Donna Hay 🙂

  5. According to my calculations, with two contestants a week eliminated, we should be at Final Two stage by first week or so of July. The finale will not take place until the end of July, meaning that the show will run 2-3 weeks longer than the number of contestants currently left. Therefore, the plot twist has to involve more people being added to the final seven. Either they will bring back four eliminated contestants, or perhaps, like My Kitchen Rules, they will introduce entirely new contestants, perhaps some first or second year apprentices from top restaurants will be introduced and the remaining contestants will have to battle them for the title? Hmm, I’m really letting my imagination run away now!

  6. i hope they dont bring eliminated contestants back, surely channel 10 can think of something better than that.

this season hasnt really brought in anyone exciting (in terms of eliminated people) so its not like i am itching to see any of them back, unlike last year where it was a travesty to see poh go out so early.

  7. word is that it has been extended to 14 weeks after ten’s ratings release said something about reaching the half way point after week 7. at the moment it seems they are still running at last year’s 12 week pace. so the twst will probably be something that allows the season to be extended.

  8. @ allie – lol would be awesome to see Chris back!

If they bring back eliminated contestants they must compete to reenter the competition and i think that’s whay may happen. All the eliminated contestants will have a competition to choose 2 to come back.

  9. What if a lot of the eliminated contestants have been shipped away and secretly being trained unbeknownst to the current contestants, and come back to face off?

  10. I hope not. I hated that they brought back eliminated contestants when they reached the Final Four last series. Really lame twist. Eliminated means just that – eliminated, gone, never returning. Of the contestants ousted so far this series, the only one I would bring back, if they decide to go down the wildcard re-entry route again, is Skye. The rest don’t deserve a call back, as they weren’t that great.

I have no idea what the “massive twist” is, but I think a really great twist would be to re-introduce a contestant from last season. How about bringing Chris Badenoch back? Or that insufferable Aaron? LOL! There hasn’t been a resident villain this season, so having them arrive at the kitchen one morning to be greeted by Chris at one of the work benches would be hilarious!
