  1. the bro with missing fro is going to be receiving the “Benji MAddern award” for ‘most colourful left arm’
and runner up for ‘most lame attempt to argue with Bile Sandy Lands”

should be a huuuuuuge night. Not

  2. @Jerome : I’m not taking the mick, I am not aware of any new Sebastian product this year. I thought you had to be an active artist to be eligible for these things. The other artists nominated, fair enough.

  3. RE: Brian McFadden, “Artists must either be Australian citizens, or have applied for or attained permanent resident status and have resided in Australia for at least six months within the specified period.”

Also, I agree with Dave about Vanessa Amorossi. I’ve noticed a bit of Indie bias in recent years. As much as I believe in supporting struggling artists, how could Jessica Mauboy – despite 3 top tens and a 2x platinum album – be beaten by the likes of Bertie Blackman and Ladyhawke whose commercial success is debatable?

  4. Brian McFadden is Irish. We don’t want to claim him as Australian and he shouldn’t be eligible. And how is Arj Barker nominated also??? Love Arj, but he’s American.

  5. Fantastic for Guy! He has, if i am not mistaken, only been previously nominated for highest selling ARIA’s – so this is wonderful – that said – best male performer is a bit light on this year. Oz music is in a great place right now. Vanessa Amorosi absent from peer categories; Why hasn’t Ian Meldrum been inducted into Hall of Fame? – his contribution for 40 years is monumental, especially for the 70’s/ 80’s – where aussie music blossomed both here and around the world.
