Piers Morgan to interview Larry King

CNN's Piers Morgan will interview his predecessor Larry King, who criticised him last week on the BBC.

In a somewhat surprising move CNN’s Piers Morgan will interview his predecessor Larry King later this week.

Morgan has thus far attracted some criticism, including from King, that he isn’t firing.

Last week King told the BBC, “I think one of the problems they did was over sell it.

“[They said] he was going to be dangerous, he was going to be water cooler talk.

“I think they might have been better off starting quietly and that’s not Piers’ fault, or maybe it is, I’m not inside anymore.”

Morgan said of the upcoming CNN interview, “I’m sure people will be fascinated by the dynamic between us, for obvious reasons.”

King hosted Larry King Live for more than 25 years, before stepping down last year.

  1. I’m really liking Piers.

I really enjoyed him on Celebrity Apprentice and was excited to see him get his own show as more than a reality talent judge. I’ve IQd it and watched almost every episode.

He’s a great interviewer, and his ability to cover breaking news during recent events in Egypt was very pleasing to see. He switched formats comfortably and had some interesting angles. I’m very impressed.

To all that are critical here; give him a go. He’s very good.

  2. I listened to a couple of minutes of him interviewing the Kardishan sisters (or whatever they are called) and it was just cringeworthy by how boring it was. He was asking them such inane questions and talking over them I had to turn off rather quickly. His first interview with Oprah was pretty awful too. Larry was bad by the end but this Piers guy seems worse.

  3. I remember Piers from being the odious editor of The Sun’s Bizarre column back in the 80’s / early 90’s. I find it almost depressing that he is now in any sort of resectable journalistic position.
