Airdate: Go Lingo!

A new kids game show, Go Lingo!, airs on both ABC3 and NITV, to help learning about indigenous people, cultures and language.

A new kids game show, Go Lingo!, begins today on ABC3 and from next week on NITV.

The high energy game show for students aged 11- 12 aims to help learning about indigenous people, cultures and language.

During each episode three contestants compete for maximum points in a variety of fun hi-tech games using the latest in touch screen technology. Watch as they jump into a pit of letters in Chuck A, shoot digital basketballs in Shoot Out and skirmish with digital paint balls in Splat all while focusing on spelling and grammar.

A unique feature of Go Lingo! is the segment My County which profiles Indigenous languages from around Australia. Audiences will learn about unique languages of towns, cities and remote areas from across the country and will pick up and use a few words from the traditional owners.

Following a nationwide search, 19-year-old Torres Strait Islander Alannah Ahmat was selected to host Go Lingo!. “I feel really proud to be a part of this show, it’s an amazing experience. I’ve always been encouraged to be myself and be proud of who I am, so to be on a show that celebrates my culture and the cultures of Indigenous people across Australia is just amazing,” Alannah said.

It airs at 11:25am weekdays on ABC3 and from 10am Monday April 18 on NITV.

  1. This is a great opportunity for our indigenous students to receive praise and recognition for their hard work and efforts. Go kids make us proud….. especially Angel. love you girl.

  2. So that explains the set I walked through several weeks ago at the QUT studio in Brisbane while having a tour for new film and TV students.

Must admit, I’m slightly bemused what they’ve thrown in in post production, but hey it’s a nice little kids game show.
