This post updates.

  1. Did you notice that they mucked up the shot of most popular new talent nominee Charles Cottier and had two shots of Ryan Corr from different angles? Also they mucked up the shot of most popular actress nominee Margot Robbie and featured Neighbours castmate Valentina Novakovic instead?

  2. Bland modern day farce at its vulgar worst. Not only does the biggest tool in the kit win the ‘award’ (inverted commas a necessity here..) through blatant network nepotism, he tops it off, not with a witty aside, not with a naughty double entendre, not even with a cutting, cruel quip. No, he tops it off with some randon comment about his wife’s a*se delivered with all the comic timing of an abetoir giblet gutter. A champagne moment! It beggars belief what we will accept as entertainment these days… and entertainers for that matter.

This guy mines the murky, dubious depths of what we now term ‘the presenter’. To call him ‘a journalist’ is like calling Paris Hilton an actress or Dani Minogue a singer. Absurd.

  3. Lets Have some Facts..Bet you cant get details of the voting.
    Its Not audited or published.
Shame is the logies used to be believeable.. now you know in advance Nine will get the lions share

  4. Anyone who has a bad thing to say about any show or any person I would like to say Get OVer Yourselves how dare you say anything bad why don`t you try and do better yourselves I am so over people putting other people down what is wrong with the people in this world today take a good look at yourself it was one of the best Logies I have ever seen and good on all the winners and the ones who never won anything you are all winners to me so all I want to say is back off all you nasty people out there and have a go if you think you can do better….Shane you done the best Logies ever and Karl you are the very best its the people choice and no it is not set up it is from peoples hearts why do people get off on running other people down

  5. I usually like the logies, but I found last night increddibly tacky and boring. Katy Perry was underwhelming, the set was plain and did anybody else notice the music they repeat at the start and end of almost every ad break has been the same for the last few years? I thought Shane Bourne would do good, but i reckon he was terrible! His oppening was incredibly awkward with the fat jokes…

I also noticed there seemed to be alot of pro-nine bias in the broadcast this year, it was mostly very subtle, like the fact the front rows tables were mostly nine stars. The worst bit was after Underbelly one its award, immediately after nine ran an add congratualting it and promoting Razor, doesnt this indicate nine may have already known the results? although they could have pre-made it.

On the other hand, Laurie Oakes, the Chaser, Hamish and Andy and Jessie J were all great

    • Redcity: Yes Nine knew the winners. About 40 minutes before when they were announced before the delayed telecast. It’s not too hard to roll pre-recorded ads you have prepared with 40 minutes notice but it’s not sneaky.

  6. I just finished watching the show and I enjoyed it. It was the best Logies show for quite some time. Maybe because I didn’t watch it live and was able to skip the red carpet and that Logie Minute thing it seemed that it was a much sleeker and less awkward production than what we have had to endure in the past. I don’t really care who wins or loses. Everyone has their own preferences. If you went to the trouble of voting and your favourite person/show won congratulations. If they didn’t win there’s always next year.

  7. @FJ yes The Circle gets less viewers and the girls talked about this subject on this morning show. But what so many people cant make sense of is that the viewers voted, they small amount of viewers actually made the effort to vote for them.Just because a prime time show might have a audience of say 1 million viewers,it doesnt mean that all the viewers that watch that prime time show will actually take the time and effort and vote for that show they watch every week. The girls this morning said they have a average audience of maybe 90,000,and these viewers are loyal because as the result the show won.

  8. Armchair Analyst

Q Julie. There is no difference between the Sunrise hosts and the Today (Aus) hosts. In my opinion they are both fake and non of them are real. Both act yes act like they wake up feeling positive every morning, so once again they Sunrise and Today are both fake and are both acting.

  9. Armchair Analyst

The broadcast was better than in recent years and Shane Bourne was at his best as host. I would have thought the censors would have been biting their nails at what Shane and most other presenters were saying but they were probably already drunk and didnt mind. Thats where the pleasantries stop. The Logies as far as induvidual awards go is absolutely crap. Factual, light entertainment, reality are all catergories not worth the time or the day. I would have loved if their was a music category considering music is just as important as the other genres and was part of the eentertainment, yet was missing. Shows like: Rage, Video Hits, Eclipse Music TV &; other music shows on pay tv will never ever win a logie in thier respective categories which i think is an absolute disgrace. For a awards show which is supposed to represent all of the Tv genres i find it very disgraceful and heavily biased against the music media.

  10. I read with interest : Firass Dirani (Underbelly: The Golden Mile, Nine Network) wins Most Popular New Talent at the Logie Awards. This means absolutely nothing! I mean has he had filming assignments since filming this series 18 months ago or will he ever work in the industry again??? How many “actors” from Number 96 or Prisoner or E Street or any other show that you think of have sustainable livelihoods from acting?……..very few. Very few indeed !!!

  11. I was quite happily watching the logies revisited this morning with the frocks, comments, awards etc and then the bloody OBL death is everywhere. Yeah, fair suck of the sauce bottle. We get it. He’s dead. But please, can we go back to the logies wrap up. I was enjoying seeing it all again this morning with the boring bits cut out.
So glad Asher won. What an outstanding actress. Also, yay Karl winning. I still can’t believe it when they say Sunrise (7) is more popular than Today (9) – with ratings. Really? I can’t stand those two phonies. Give me Karl & Lisa anyday.
