Morning Show celebrates 4 years of wins

The Morning Show has a birthday broadcast at Star City, marking four years of winning the morning TV battle.

Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies will celebrate four years of The Morning Show at a special outside broadcast at Star City in Sydney today.

Before a live audience of 200 viewers, there will be appearances from Damien Leith, Brian McFadden, Todd McKenney, Casey Donovan, Laura Dundovic & James Kerley.

Since it emerged from the Sunrise stable The Morning Show has enjoyed an unbeaten run, this year averaging 182,000 viewers a day over Kerri-Anne ‘s 98,000 and The Circle‘s 88,000 (includes summer series).

“Wow.. I can’t quite believe it’s been four years already,” Gillies tells TV Tonight.

“Some shows struggle to make it past one season. We consider ourselves so lucky to have reached this milestone. And I couldn’t be happier to be celebrating with the bloke who sits beside me and puts up with me for two and a half hours each day. It wouldn’t be half as much fun without Laz.

“We love that our audience seems to like us as much as we love them. Everything we do on the show is about giving them something to think about, or laugh about. Good or bad we love hearing their comments.

“We aim to constantly evolve the show and that will continue to be our focus. Move with the times… stay relevant. And interesting and entertaining.

“Our show at Star City should be heaps of fun and just a glimpse of what’s ahead for The Morning Show.”

  1. @ Vix ….yes I love The Circle….not really a fan of Larry Emdur…
And @ Bill Gates….I am not silly…I do realise that they do not have ratings boxes…..
@ James….you are correct…I was talking exposure of the show to audiences who would not normally watch this show.

  2. was such a great show on friday. my daughter and I couldn’t stop laughing. i think the channel seven bosses should bring back the the audience and band. congratulations laz and kylie you are getting better every year and you seem to love each other again.

  3. @ bill – I believe Maev was referring to exposure of the show to a new audience. Something I’ve personally noticed is when Sunrise was moving into top spot years ago every Airport/Cafe TV was tuned to Seven. These days I see these same sets tuned to Today….

  4. I don’t tend to watch morning shows. But congrats on the unbeaten run.

All they show now is advertising for impulse buyers and Hollywood gossip (At least when ever I get a glimpse of it).

  5. I think the fact that most doctors surgeries and public places seem to have it on this show in the mornings….probably helps their ratings….puts it out there for people who maybe would not normally watch.
