Keith and the team have done a wonderful job over the past 17 years and during that time we have hardly missed a show. It is one of the few shows worth watching on Channel 9. South Australia is a wonderful tourist destination and many areas can be re-visited with new things to do. I live in the Barossa and things are always changing and being re-vitalised. There is still much to see that hasn’t been televised. Vale Postcards! Well done Keith Conlon and the team.
This is sad news indeed. As Keith and the team pioneered this program it will be badly missed. Come on community TV heres an opportunity. Wasnt there a show called discover some time back on a rival network ?
Currently I am undergoing chemotheraphy for hodgkins lymphoma, and the HODU unit at FMC was a buzz last week,as one of the very friendly nurses found out and infomred everyone including us patients the Postcards SA has been axed, Win Television are you aware of what you have done.
This is a sad reflection on national media ownership.
To Keith and the Gang at Postcards SA we are sad for you all,and you will be sorley missed.
Great shame. A great SA programme giving reasons for South Aussies to explore the state.
Maybe Cosi will be SA’s answer to what the bogans did for Getaway
jay jay: I truly hope that Salad is playing a horrid practical joke or is delusional.
17 seasons is pretty impressive. Well done. 🙂
… In addition to ABC recently axing SA’s Talking Heads. Hope other things replace them there.
Totally disappointing to South Australia. This on my Sunday Night off work was the only decent other than the ABC/SBS offerings alternative to that irritating Andrew O’Keefe and his deal or no deal garbage by comparison.
Dislike!!!!
@Salad – that is completely untrue
Money in TV land is tight and Smart TV’S are already here. It’s not going to get any easier for Free To Air or PAY TV. Epect more belt tightening.
aaah Homer, eastern states inferiority complex shows itself again. To anyone else, come on over and make up your own minds!!!
Sad! If I remember rightly as a former Adelaidean, this version of the show was the first ever in this format…one that spawned all others. Poor Keith, what a likeable chap.
@Homer, I agree with Tony Bee’s comment, SA has a number of world class tourist attractions. Homer you must be from VIC or NSW.
@Tony Bee Yeah you’re right, I was probably thinking too much about Adelaide. I’ve enjoyed travelling around The Barossa and I’m sure there are other great places in SA.
Apparently it’s being replaced with a travel show by former biggest loser contestant, cosi.
Postcards SA was a lovely little show – there is actually so much happening over there and its great as a tourist to the state to watch it and get ideas!!
That’s a bit rude, Homer. SA has many world-class tourist attractions.
Didn’t Postcards WA get the boot as well?
Honestly I’m surprised they managed to fill 17 seasons with South Australian tourism stuff. There must be more quaint little craft shops doing interesting things with coloured wool/cheese/old cooking utensils than I realised.
