Who would have thought these two would ever come together for an interview: former Today Tonight host Anna Coren and PM Julia Gillard?
But meet they will in a CNN Talk Asia interview, Gillard’s first ever interview with CNN.
Coren will tackle the PM on Australia’s carbon tax, asylum seekers and why she’s confident she’s the best person to lead the government.
8:30pm AEDT Wednesday November 2nd.

Thanks for the ‘heads up’! [We watch so little of CNN because of things like this!]
Love CNN! =D
Anna interviewed Kevin Rudd on CNN when he was PM. She also interviewed John Howard on Today Tonight. So believe it or not, this will be the third time she’s interviewed a current Australian Prime Minister.
Didn’t Coren interview John Howard and Peter Costello on TT in 2007? May have been tabloid-y but a Prime Ministerial interview nonetheless.
Is there any reason why they wouldn’t?
I remember Anna doing a couple of very rare political interviews on Today Tonight and it really showed up her inadequacies in this area. I’m sure the daily grind of doing live news on CNN has sharpened up her skills.
She was lucky to escape from Today Tonight with her credibility in tact. Good on her.
So good to see Anna is still with CNN, wasnt sure how the move from Today Tonight to CNN would go but ur making Australia proud by representing us on the international stage
RE Peter: It’s a shock because Today Tonight would never have interviews with politicians on their show
Why is it such a shock that these two would appear together? Some history between them?
