Kelsey Grammer lets rip at Sunrise producer

Kelsey Grammer let fly at a Sunrise producer after questions about his ex-wife -but it had all been cleared with his Publicist.

Kelsey Grammer’s visit to Sunrise went pear-shaped on Wednesday after a hostile backstage reaction to an interview with David Koch and Natalie Barr.

The former Frasier actor was asked about his third marriage to Camille Donatacci who appears in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

The interview included footage of him kissing his ex-wife on her US reality show while his new wife Kayte Walsh was watching in the studio.

But as soon as the interview ended, Grammer demanded to speak to entertainment producer Mark Beirne, whom he called on the phone and let rip. Wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of that voice!

News Ltd quotes him as saying: “You are a vile person … a sick dog … your life must be tragic … I feel sorry for you,” he was heard screaming.

Today at the National Radio Conference on the Gold Coast he defended his outburst, reports SKY News, “I won’t be doing them again, my outburst was deserved.” He was also quick to change the subject during a Q&A session.

However a Seven source tells TV Tonight that Grammer’s publicist had agreed with Beirne prior to the interview that nothing was off the record, including discussion of his former wife’s reality television show.

  1. Oh June , how do you all know this ? , what I was getting at was that someone wrote a comment on here , making a claim which was a opinion , and because David didn’t like the wording , he got all sensitive.

It’s this site which lets there commentators , belittle programs and the people behind them with no remorse , however as soon as someones poor little source Is questioned , then out comes the venom .

  2. @TV. Tomorrow – you do understand that the “source” in this instance is an actual real person who works at Seven and who David knows personally and has received credible information from before, right? It’s not the same kinda of “source” as New Idea’s “close friend” and “family member” that they love quoting so much. So, if David trusts him/her enough to publish the claim on the site, I’m going to go ahead and take it as most likely the truth. He wouldn’t tarnish his own reputation and that of this site by willy-nilly publishing random untruths.

  3. But who’s to say the source Is telling the truth , does anyone really know ? Saying there telling lies counts as a opinion , so why Is it any different to any other views on here just because you don’t agree with it David ?

    1. Firstly my experience of dealing with trusted sources comes with history, I believe I gave the story additional background that other media did not. These are attributes that have helped define this site’s place within the media. So for a reader to make an allegation that my source is lying (when one doesn’t even know who the source is) crosses a line which is more than opinion. Would have been better to phrase a response with doubts, which would have been an opinion, rather than allegation.

    1. It’s an opinion that Sunrise should have avoided the personal questions with Kelsey Grammer. Fair enough. Making a claim that a source is “obviously lying” is an unfair claim. Internet anonymity is not license to make wild claims that are not backed up with evidence. Frankly I was generous in publishing it.
