NRL Grand Final tops ratings week, but Seven takes prize.

By David Knox on October 9, 2011 / Filed Under News 6

The NRL Grand Final won by the Sea Eagles topped the ratings week with 2.16m viewers in the 5 city metros.

The adjusted figure was a lift from its preliminary overnight figure of 2.02m. Timeshifted data isn’t yet added, but it isn’t likely to raise much higher due to the appeal of the event live.

Nine’s other top performers included Underbelly: Razor, Nine News (Sunday) and 60 Minutes. Nine started the week with a big head start over its opposition, but by Wednesday morning Seven had taken back the lead.

It was similar in Week 40 when TEN topped results with the AFL Grand Final but not the week.

Seven’s winners included Packed to the Rafters, The X Factor, Seven News (Sun / Sat) and Sunday Night.

Terra Nova got off to a good start for TEN, followed by Junior MasterChef and NCIS.

Gruen Planet again topped the numbers for ABC1.

    Not confirmed but I Hate My Teenage Daughter should be Nine and Last Man Standing either TEN or Foxtel (ABC2 also a reality series of the same name over summer).

    @tmorgan: not good for nine if GO is simply taking viewers from Nine aka big abng/two half men and movies that outrate primary… insaneo at 9

    Nine will be upset, maybe so also the NRL who want top dollar for the new rights

    @tomothy,
    You’re right. GO! seems to have boomed this week, having lost to the older-skewing 7two by 0.1%. Good news for Nine and advertisers.

  6. tomothy October 9, 2011 at 12:32 pm -

    The multichannels seems to be getting a higher percentage this week.
