So You Think You Can Dance -or not?

Could So You Think You Can Dance return to TV, this time on Nine?

According to News Limited there is a prospect of So You Think You Can Dance Australia returning to TV, not on TEN but Nine.

“I would love to see it back – I’ve spoken to (judge) Bonnie (Lythgoe) a few times and she’s also keen,” said former judge and current Celebrity Apprentice contender Jason Coleman.

US host Cat Deeley is even floated as a possible replacement for Natalie Bassingthwaighte, now entrenched on The X Factor.

Earlier in the year US producer Nigel Lythgoe said, “If the TEN Network don’t want it we’re going to have to take it off them and take it to Seven or Nine with another production company,” he said.

But don’t bet on it. Nine sources have played down the likelihood of this coming to fruition, when asked by TV Tonight today.

Complicating matters is the fact that TEN licensed the format rights in Australia for SYTYCD, not FremantleMedia Australia.

The US version currently plays on ELEVEN.

  1. I love the show and i would love to see it come back, maybe some new judges would be good, just not Mary Murphy. I was so disappointed when it didn’t come back on. It is just so great to watch all of the amazing talent Australia has to offer and to watch the contestants grow into technical, creative young dancers! The show should definitely make a return!

  2. Ten should atleast try it for 1 more season in 2013 And as people say 7.30 sundays with biggest loser 6.30pm sundays and it should work well, esp with all the changes to the US format it will be alot better.
