Airdate: Alan Carr: Chatty Man

By David Knox on January 5, 2012 / Filed Under Programming 11

ABC may have lost campĀ Graham Norton, but they have gone and picked up even-camperĀ Alan Carr: Chatty Man for ABC2.

The UK chat show began in 2009 but we will pick up from episodes which began in October.

First guests are Nicole Scherzinger, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Matt Cardle.

This series also features special guests David Walliams, Westlife, Dannii Minogue, Peter Kay, Lady Gaga, Bear Grylls, Ricky Gervais, Alesha Dixon, Jonathan Ross, Steps, Gok Wan, Kirstie Allsopp, and more.

Join comedian Alan Carr for a nice natter on the sofa… Loved by both the public and his guests for his irrepressible, warm and witty approach, Alan Carr presents series seven of his side-splitting chat show.

Each episode sees Alan welcome three celebrity guests to his sofa, where the usual rules of chat shows do not necessarily apply! There’s high jinks, juicy gossip and with Alan’s gentle mocking approach, who knows what the celebrities will reveal about themselves?

This week, Alan is joined by Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger to chat about her latest single, actors Simon Pegg and Nick Frost get comfy on the sofa to talk about their roles in the Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson movie The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, and UK X Factor winner Matt Cardle performs a track from his new album, Letters.

Christa, maybe ABC2 will use his hiatus periods to fill with older episodes? If it rates well enough…

Yay, I love Chatty Man, and always watch it on comedy channel

Chatty Man can be entertaining depending on the guest but he;s an overbearing interviewer. It’s more about his punch line than the guests response. Graham Norton is still a lot stronger than Carr or Ross but this will still help the ABC fill the place of Norton.

Im not very happy with Graham Norton switching over to TEN from the ABC,but I
will be making the switch to TEN to watch Graham Norton,I just hope they don’t screw his show up.
To get to see Alan Carr on free to air TV has most definately made me one very happy camper:):):)
He is just so so so Camp I just love him.
Can I just say that Graham & Alan are two very different comedy talk show host’s & they are both Brilliant.

It makes we wonder why TEN didn’t pick this up years ago if they wanted a Graham Norton type show, instead of ‘acquiring’ the latter from the ABC.

having just finished watching alan’s co-hosting of location, location, location for “the C4 mash-up” and having a good ol’ larf at his antics i m well happy with ABC2 for bringing chatty man to free to air. i watch c/m each week via other means and look forward to his fun and games on the sofa. the ep from late last year when westlife and alan r doing shots is well funny. keep an eye out for it.
