The Slap set for US premiere

Acclaimed Australian drama series The Slap will have its US premiere next month.

The ABC drama will premiere at 10pm on February 15th on cable network DirecTV. In the past, DirecTV has also screened Underbelly.

It has already sold to Canada, UK, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, other territories in Eastern Europe and Asia.

The series was produced by Matchbox Pictures, majority owned by NBCU.

The show is expected to feature strongly at next week’s AACTA Awards.

  1. Just to add, The Slap will air on DirecTV’s general entertainment channel, Audience Network. It’s kinda like Foxtel/Austar’s Fox8 here. They also screened ABC1’s Rake in the US.

  2. This show was sooooo lame. What’s the fuss all about??? It was full of sex nudity and foul language….or was this the “good acting” which many are rambling on about????

  3. Maev....Sydney

Hmmm….it will be interesting to see how this Aussie thing goes over with the Americans…we are the same….but also very different….I talk to many other countries each day….
