Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay had to be carried off on stretcher after taking a tumble in a Soccer Aid charity match in Manchester.
Former Manchester United star Teddy Sheringham tackled Ramsay to the ground, resulting in him being given oxygen on the pitch then carried off to a standing ovation from the 70,000 strong crowd.
“Thx 4 all the messages. Out of hospital after receiving amazing care from medics at ground & hospital. Bit sore but fine,” Ramsay later wrote on Twitter.
Organised by Robbie Williams, and screened live on ITV1, Soccer Aid 2012 raised more than £6.5m for UNICEF. Among those taking part were Will Ferrell, Mike Myers, Gerard Butler, Woody Harrelson, Edward Norton, Olly Murs, Take That’s Mark Owen and John Bishop.
Ferrell also hobbled off with an apparent leg injury.

@Maev….Sydney: I’d assume it’s the Specsavers ad, where a man walks in to a room full of steam thinking it’s a sauna, when it’s actually Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen. Probably the best ad this year so far…
When is he going to stop pretending he can play; with anyone? 🙂
Food poisoning?
I like the new ad he is in on TV…sooo funny….
But for the life of me…cannot remember what they were advertising… 😆
Hey, Big Boy, who’s going to f#@kn swear at the f#@kn sous-chef now that Gordon effin Ramsey’s laid low? F*** me.
( Obvious I know, but I just had to do it 😉 )
Couldn’t of happened to a nicer guy.
