Now that we have your attention.
ABC2 screens How Sex Works, a three episode series that looks at why we do it and what happens to us when we do, sexual issues and “young people’s questions about sex.”
Not sure if it’s a How to Manual as well…
This landmark blue-chip series investigates all these questions and more, stripping bare the science of sex and attraction like never before.
The three episodes follow the three ages of sex: the “first time’’, “playing the field’’ and sex in a long-term relationship. Within each we follow real characters on this stage of the sexual journey.
Each episode anchors this information in real human stories as we follow selected characters on their own personal journeys. Their perspectives and experiences – closely reflecting those of the audience –allow us to explore the science in an entertaining and involving way.
For too long, sex on TV has been portrayed in a scurrilous or salacious fashion – titillation masquerading as education.
The tone and content of this series is very different from this and designed to tackle head-on the real concerns and problems of people – exposing myths and finding answers to the many questions young people have.
By travelling inside the human body we explore the physiological, neurological and psychological changes that happen before, during and after sex – and using computer graphics, illustrate the science of lust and the mechanics of sex itself. We learn how our bodies get ready for sex both physically and mentally, how the male and female orgasms work and what happens inside the body at the moment of conception itself.
