Olympics: Day 13 on Nine

There are 13 Gold Medals to be decided on Day 13, according to Nine.

Is this a rather telling indication of the differences between Free to Air and Pay TV broadcasts?

While Nine claims there are 13 Gold Medals to be decided on Day 13 of Olympics competition, Foxtel claims there are 23. Typo somewhere or a telltale sign of who is broadcasting what?

Thirteen gold medals will be decided tonight on Day 13 of The Games and host Karl Stefanovic will bring viewers all the action.

This session may include:

Canoeing – Sprint – 6.30pm*
Four more gold medals are on offer at Eton Dorney for the world’s best canoeists and kayakers.

Australia has one crew through to a final. The men’s K4 team of Jacob Clear, David Smith, Tate Smith and Murray Stewart will compete in the K4 1000m final.

Medals will also be decided in the men’s C2 1000m, the women’s K1 500m and the women’s K2 500m.

Athletics – 6pm*
The greatest all-rounders in the athletics world continue their quest for the decathlon gold medal. In this session they’ll contest the 110m hurdles, discus and pole vault.

It’s qualifying time in the women’s high jump and also the first round in the men’s 4x400m relay. Australia is represented by 400m individual finalist Steven Solomon, John Steffensen, Brendan Cole and Tristan Thomas.

Australia’s Matthew Belcher and Malcolm Page are in first place in the men’s 470, with the final race of their competition today. They could win Australia’s third sailing gold medal of London 2012.

Australia’s Kathryn Mitchell has qualified for the final of the women’s javelin and will be looking to produce her best to get among the medals.

The men’s 800m, featuring Kenyan world record holder David Rudisha, will be decided along with the men’s triple jump and the final two events of the men’s decathlon, the javelin and the 1500m. In the commentary box for Nine will be the dual decathlon gold medallist, Great Britain’s Daley Thompson.

Also on the program: semi-finals in the women’s 800m and the first round of the women’s 4x100m relay.
