Todd Lasance may star in Spartacus spin-off

US cable network Starz is eyeing a spin-off of Spartacus revolving around the character of Julius Caesar, played by Todd Lasance.

Lasance debuts in the third season, which airs in the US in January joining fellow Aussie Liam McIntyre in the title role.

Spartacus producer Steven DeKnight has preciously hinted there could be a spin-off, telling the Hollywood Reporter, “In the halls of Starz, we often whisper about a spinoff. We’ve set up a world that is just perfect to spin off into other areas during this time period,” he said at the time.

“We are open to, down the road, revisiting this world, whether it’s Julius Caesar, whether it’s set in the same time period or whether it’s a little later in the time period.”
