US cable network Lifetime has axed its dramedy Drop Dead Diva after four seasons.
Deadline reports it has opted not to order a fifth season of the show starring Brooke Elliott as a dead aspiring model but that series producer Sony Pictures TV may shop it elsewhere.
There had been speculation that Lifetime felt the show did not fit into the network’s shift toward edgier fare, despite the fact it has earned good ratings.
The network also tried to shake things up last season with the casting of Kim Kardashian in a recurring role.
The series had aired in Australia on GEM but hasn’t screened new episodes for over a year.

People watched this show… for four seasons?!
I haven’t even seen the second series. Enjoyed the first series and wouldn’t mind seeing the rest…
Just started watching Season 1 on foxtel.
Thats dissappointing. It was an enjoyable show not like anything else out there. I hope it gets a revival elsewhere. Still wondering when Gem is going to show season 4. The nine network has poorly treated this show with its channel changes from nine to go and then to gem and timeslot changes from evening to a midday timeslot for the majority of season 3. Hopefully they will advertise when they will finally show season 4. Please show season 4 asap! I am looking forward to watching it.
