It’s a little bit Spicks and Specks, and a little bit Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation…
Here’s a sneak peek at ABC’s newest panel show Tractor Monkeys, hosted by Merrick Watts.
Looking at fads, trends and social phenomena with two captains and two teams, this is produced by some of the team from Spicks and Specks. It also heavily mines the ABC video vault for old clips from the past.
Dave O’Neil and Monty Dimond are team captains with regulars including Tom Gleeson, Denise Scott, Frank Woodley and Kate Langbroek, Adam Richard to name a few.
There will also be an ABC Companion app to play along at home via www.abc.net.au/tv/tractormonkeys
It premieres 8:30pm Wednesday March 20 ABC1

That clip tells me it ain’t worth watching…
Merrick doesn’t suit TV,no matter how many tonnes of Botox he takes.shame that . Format is unoriginal but half decent ( comedians babbling on)
Randling was so much better. Cleverer, funnier, more original and better casting.
First Josh Thomas and now Merrick Watts. Does Australia have any funny comedians we can put on tv?
I enjoyed it. With the likelihood of being accused of dumbing things down, it’s less cerebral and more gut reaction than Randling- and thus perhaps a bit faster than the word game.
There’s no langbroek in that clip?
Hmm, it’s a bit disorganised and not in a good way. It was like watching a segment on commercial FM radio where everyone is talking over each other and most of the conversation consists of the first half of sentences. Perhaps that’s just the Watts-Langbroek Effect.
…and a little bit dull
If it wasnt this guy as host id look at it but nah
