No foolin’ here… David Tennant and Billie Piper will return to Doctor Who, for the special 50th Anniversary.
They will reprise their roles and appear alongside Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman. They will also be joined by acting legend John Hurt, whose guest appearance has also been confirmed.
The official Doctor Who Twitter account posted an image of Tennant, followed by an image of Piper, and a third photo of Hurt.
It has also been confirmed by the BBC.
This will be the first time Tennant has reprised his role as the Tenth Doctor.
Filming of the special is set to kick off this week. Reports on the special’s length currently vary between 60 and 90 minutes, though it was previously confirmed that it will be shot in 3D, and receive a limited worldwide 3D cinema release.

The pictures from the read through is notable for who is going to be on the show, but also for who isn’t shown. There may be more surprises in store, like perhaps other ex-Doctors appearing.
How exciting!
The read-through was held a few hours ago and the picture has been released! Either Tennant has shrunk or Matt has good heels on his boots.
This should be epic!
