Have we ever been more spoiled for local Aussie drama?
This Sunday there are four first-run dramas screening across four Free to Air networks.
Reef Doctors premieres at 6:30pm on TEN while new episodes of Paper Giants, House Husbands and A Place to Call Home air on ABC1, Nine and Seven respectively. It’s a shame three of them are head to head.
If we add in the rest of the week there are premiere episodes for Packed to the Rafters, Offspring, Home and Away, Neighbours and Wentworth on Foxtel.
The Time of Our Lives joins a week later on ABC1.
A number of other dramas are either shooting or about to start filming.
It’s a pretty good output for the local industry.

Magazine Wars has an encore screening tonight for anyone who missed it.
Yeah it’s a pain they are all up against each other. My machine’s working overtime at the moment.
For anyone interested, House Husbands is repeated a week later on Sunday afternoon (this week shows last Sunday night’s ep). That’s how I’ve been handling the clash. Then again, Foxtel IQ certainly helps.
Also, Magazine Wars comes out on DVD next week. So you might not need to wait that long for it if you don’t mind the pricetag.
Hope that helps!
Good thing TEN didn’t put Reef Doctors on later in the evening. As for the others I’ll have to fire up the stand by PVR!
Death to reality television!
It’s quite annoying that three have to go head to head so that viewers miss out.
Great to see some Aussie drama there. Perhaps the networks are using some of the money that was deducted from their licence fees.
There still should be more Australian variety and comedy though, but perhaps that’s left to Australian taxpayers through the ABC.
