But the data, provided by TV licensees, is for the year 2010–11.
Expenditure on local programming jumped 16 per cent in the same period.
Reported overall expenditure on Australian commercial television programs was $1.2649 billion, a 16 per cent increase over the previous financial year, matched by a 16 per cent increase in reported overall expenditure of $432.6 million on overseas programming.

Sorry Pertinax but I think that’s wrong.
I’m pretty sure there are reporting requirements in the broadcasting act that mean licensees have to submit certain reports (eg, ownership and control) to the ACMA every year.
Some of the broadcasters (eg, WIN) are not listed companies so they don’t have to do any reporting other than what ACMA requires.
The ACMA can’t report the figures until the broadcasters publish them in their annual financial reports to shareholders.
Would be good to invest a bit more in development and talents
Good old ACMA, they’re always so up to date with everything aren’t they? We are two weeks from the end of 2012-13 and they are only just now releasing a report from *two* years earlier.
Could they not find any batteries for their calculator, sorry – arithmometer?
