With the federal election now on for September 7th, ABC1 should consider bringing forward Gruen Nation and The Hamster Decides.
Both are currently scheduled for Wednesday August 21, a date gambled by the ABC Â when the date wasn’t set.
On the current schedule we’ll get 3 episodes of each when Aunty was hoping for four.
It would seem premature to launch both this week so hopefully everybody can scramble for next week. ABC had slated one episode of Adam Hill’s Last Leg for August 14 which I reckon should make way for Gruen.
Wednesday Night Fever also has its last episode next week but could feasibly play out after The Hamster Decides as part of political satire night, with a decent lead-in.
And think of the promos they could run for Upper Middle Bogan and Date Night -both of which launch the night after, Thursday August 15.
You know you want to…
UPDATE: Now confirmed.
Aug 14
8:30 Gruen Nation
9:15 The Hamster Decides
9:45 Wednesday Night Fever (final)

I agree with Quebec. Works as is. ABC must have known!
on facebook The Chaser team said go to returns to from August 14th to September 11th
Makes sense, but the ABC doesn’t like to rush things or change their schedule.
They’d be crazy not too!
Yeah, bring them forward, and extend them with wrap-up episodes after the election.
I don’t see an issue with the current schedule. If anything, it works much better. Have three weeks leading up to the election and then a wrap-up episode where they go over the election day itself and what worked and what didn’t on that day…
Yeah, hopefully they will bring them both forward.
