719435-david-mottFormer TEN Programming Chief David Mott is rumoured to be in line to run Nine’s Perth station once the deal with WIN Corporation is completed.

The Australian reports he would become Managing Director of STW9 Perth.

David Mott quite TEN in late August 2012 in a lucrative departure that included a 12 month non-compete clause, but he remains well-regarded.

Since that time he has been associated with various industry roles including ABC, ITV Australia and Seven.

David Mott began his career in Perth at Channel Seven, avoiding a career in policing as the son of the West Australian deputy police commissioner.

Nine’s Perth station sorely lags Seven but Nine is showing signs of trying to revitalise its recent Adelaide acquisition.

Nine declined to comment on the rumour.

  1. MHA, +1. Mott is tasked with reversing 54 years of history where Seven has absolutely dominated the Perth market. Yeah, good luck with that! 🙂

  2. A massive coup for Nine. Hopefully he can make something of it in a town where Seven has dominated from day one being that TVW7 was on air first, around six years before STW9. The reverse of what occurred elsewhere when TV started.

  3. Already a commenter pops up with the the Mott attitude of “the thing that went well was all because of me, all the disasters were everyone else’s fault.”

  4. I wish him luck 🙂
He had some good ideas at Ten and cant be blamed for the mess the billionaire new owners forced onto him.
He is a good communicator and will be an asset to Nine in Perth.
