SA Votes: Leaders Debate

Hold onto your hats, there will be three state elections this year. We’re off and running in South Australia with ABC set to broadcast the leaders’ debate of the 2014 South Australian election live from their Adelaide studios.

Premier Jay Weatherill and Opposition Leader Steven Marshall will go head to head in the SA Votes Leaders Debate on Monday, 17 February, kicking off the first week of the election campaign.

The debate will air in South Australia on ABC1, ABC 891 Adelaide and ABC Local Radio; nationally on ABC News 24 and online at abc.net.au/news.

The highly respected AM presenter Chris Uhlmann will host the debate, guiding the two leaders as they field questions from a studio audience at the ABC’s Collinswood studios.

Each leader will be given a set time to speak, before the forum is thrown open to the voting audience. Audience members and questions will be selected through an online registration process to ensure political balance and a probing debate. Details on where to register will be made available on social media in the coming day.
